After the virtual reality glasses, ‘VR shoes’ were also introduced
Philadelphia: An American company has developed virtual reality shoes that will allow you to feel the computer-created virtual world on your feet.
The shoes were invented by the American startup company Ekto VR and are currently in the prototype stage. The technical name of these shoes is ‘Active One Simulator Boots’ but they are also simply called ‘Active One’.They are made of lightweight but strong carbon fiber that looks like a grip on the legs. They are worn with VR goggles or helmet and joystick.
Wearing them, you actually move your legs to walk in the world of virtual reality, but still stay in place.
This way you can explore the virtual world without having to collide with objects around you and play VR games to the fullest.
To enable the wearer to ‘walk’ while staying in one place, these shoes are fitted with small wheels that rotate by motors.
These VR glasses keep in touch with the respective computer to find out which direction the wearer (in the virtual world) is moving their legs.
By the same token, they rotate in the opposite direction, which is why the person wearing them actually stays in his place, but he does not realize this and moves freely in the virtual world.
If you actually see a person wearing these shoes, it will look as if he is doing a ‘Moon Walk’ like Michael Jackson; From then on, he started ‘walking’.
This prototype of VR shoes may not look very attractive, but it could play a key role in making the Metavers a reality in the years to come.
Given the growing interest of the world’s major technology companies in Metavers, it is to be hoped that soon Meta (formerly Facebook) or another company will buy the technology.
