Bright, yellow, poisonous … Discovery of a new type of frog
The newly discovered frog belongs to the genus Brachycephalic, which includes some other species of frogs. However, all of these species are found in the same forest of Sao Paulo in an area of only 1700 square kilometers.
The newly discovered species of frog, named “Brachycephalus rotenbergae”, is found in this forest.
Its bright yellow color helps it to hide between yellow and moist leaves as it usually makes small burrows in the forest floor.
To identify this new species of frog, a team of experts looked at its physical structure, color, bone structure, sound and even genetic characteristics.
The general color of the Bracky cephalas Rotenburg frog is so bright yellow that it looks like orange. Its body is strong, its head is wide and its nose is flat.
