Cyber Security: Is India Capable of Countering China’s Cyber Attacks?
India’s Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat recently said that China has the power and capability to launch a cyber attack against India and could disrupt the country’s system.
While participating in a virtual program of Delhi-based think tank Vivek Anand International Foundation, General Rawat compared the cyber capabilities of India and China. At the same time, he stressed the importance of using modern technology in the defense sector.
It is pertinent to mention that a blackout took place in Mumbai in October last year and many quarters blamed the alleged cyber attack from Chinese soil behind it.
An alleged cyber attack is also being blamed for the recent damage to Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility. In 2015, Russia was blamed for an alleged cyber attack on a power outage in Ukraine.
