Discovery of the world’s oldest “regular” human grave
The tomb was found at the entrance of a cave in Panja or Saeedi, a famous archeological site in Kenya.
Radiocarbon historiography and other techniques have been used to estimate the age of the tomb and the age of the child, but the child’s bones have become so rotten that they do not know whether he was a boy or a girl. ۔
The layout of the tomb shows that first the tomb was made, then the leaves and soft branches of plants were spread on the floor of the tomb, then the child was laid on them and the tomb was closed by placing the soft bark of a tree on it. Done
It should be noted that regular graves of different species belonging to the genus “Homo” up to 800,000 years old have been discovered all over the world. However, this is the oldest and most regular tomb of modern man, the Homo sapiens, which is 78,000 years old.
The body found in the grave has been dubbed by experts as “Mtoto”, a Swahili word meaning “child”.
The tomb was discovered in 2013 at the mouth of the “Panja Ya Saeedi” cave, which is 3 feet deep, and some very rotten bones of a child were found in it.
