The lite version of Instagram, Facebook’s proprietary application, requires only two MB of storage on Android phones, while the original application requires 30 MB.
Key features have been retained on the Lite version, and the Facebook Lite app, developed some time ago by Facebook’s Tel Aviv team, has been used to make the app more efficient.
The company says that in the new version, the AR filters and cube transitions used on the faces have been removed, but the jiffes and stickers have been retained.
