Japan: Experiments on how to use cannabis in medicine

Japan’s Ministry of Health is considering ways to launch the first medical experiments on cannabis. The legal use of cannabis is currently banned in Japan.

According to reports, the talks started yesterday at a meeting of the ministerial panel of cannabis experts.

According to the ministry, the research team discussed specific methods of experimenting on patients. The team plans to compile a report by the end of May.

Medical products made from cannabis are approved in the United States and many other countries, including medicines to treat uncontrolled epilepsy.
