New record for Mercedes electric car covering 1200 km on a single charge

New record for Mercedes electric car covering 1200 km on a single charge
Stuttgart: An electric Mercedes Benz broke its own record by covering a distance of more than 1200 km on a single charge.

Vision EQXX covered the journey from Stuttgart, Germany, to Silverstone, UK in a record time of less than 15 hours. This electric vehicle did this feat with a 100 kWh battery. This battery pack is also used in Tesla’s Model S.

Mercedes’ car traveled twice as far as Tesla’s advanced aerodynamics, lightweight materials used, and battery innovation.
Just a month before this record was set by Vision EQXX, the same car covered a distance of 1000 km from Germany to southern France without recharging.

Both trips were made in the presence of real traffic while the recent trip also faced additional difficulties of temperature and motorway traffic.

Adam Elsop of Mercedes, a 14.5-hour drive from Germany to the UK, said getting from Stuttgart to Silverstone on a single charge was a real testament to the technology’s improvement.

Mercedes-Benz plans to switch to electric technology by 2030. According to the CEO of oil company Exxon, all passenger vehicles sold by 2040 are expected to switch to electronic technology.
